Emmy 2010 Preview: Supporting, Miniseries/TV Movie

This is where things really get interesting. These nominations are usually dominated by movie stars, and sure enough that's the case this year. Expect a familiar face to triumph this year.
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR IN A MINISERIES OR TV MOVIE
Micahel Gambon, Emma
Patrick Stewart, Hamlet
Jonathan Pryce, Return to Cranford
David Strathairn, Temple Grandin
John Goodman, You Don't Know Jack
I can't claim to be an expert on these, namely because the only one of these that I've actually seen is Stewart in Hamlet, which was very good. Gambon and Pryce are probably not in big enough roles to win, and really, I feel like this category will come down to whether Temple Grandin or You Don't Know Jack earns more love. I'm betting on Goodman, since he's a long-time Emmy favorite, but don't count out Stewart or Strathairn.
BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN A MINISERIES/TV MOVIE
Kathy Bates, Alice
Julia Ormond, Temple Grandin
Catherine O'Hara, Temple Grandin
Brenda Vaccaro, You Don't Know Jack
Susan Sarandon, You Don't Know Jack
Again, I have no experience with this. Bates doesn't strike me as a possibility, given the little love Alice received. I would say Ormond and Sarandon are the favorites here, with Sarandon for the win; that is, if Temple Grandin doesn't take the lead.
