Seriously, could this weekend's movies appear to be any worse? The only thing I'm planning to see is Scott Pilgrim vs. the World tonight (finally!), so look for a review of that tomorrow (as well as a review of Shutter Island tonight, hopefully). So in the spirit of listlessness, here's two links to keep you occupied.
Wired has created a list of the 24 cheesiest movies of all time, in honor of Piranha 3D's release. A lot of these are true cheese classics, but I have to disagree with the inclusion of Cloverfield; that was one of my favorite films of 2008. But different strokes for different folks, I suppose.
Cinematical takes a look at this year's Best Actress Oscar race, which could shape up into one of the best since....last year's that went a little generic. Here's hoping they do better this year, since there's plenty of good stuff here. Did anyone else find it interesting that Noomi Rapace is running a campaign for her The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo performance? She'd definitely get a jump on the English-language remake coming sometime in the future, but AMPAS doesn't always throw nominations at foreign-language performances (though its certainly possible).
Is Rapace a serious contender?
Are you going to see anything this weekend? If so, what?
